Same here. The people who have talked to me about it in relation to Corpse Party may have assumed that I was saying “she” not in relation to what the character wanted to be referred as, but according to human anatomy. Or perhaps that I haven’t read the manga and, somehow, it’s a big deal that “she” is physically “he”. It’s still stupid, but that is the only thing I can think of. It’s harder to detect any meanness about it over the internet.
